Information about the TOEFL Test
Institutional TOEFL (TOEFL ITP)
This test is designed to assess English-language proficiency for academic purposes and is one of the options for accreditation of the institutional English requirement, as well as an admission requirement for some master's programs.
It is also a good option as a predictor of performance on the TOEFL International test.
The version applied at ITESO is the ITP, or institutional, one. This version of the TOEFL test is completed on paper and is only valid for the institution where it is applied. This means that in order to meet the institutional English requirement at ITESO, only the ITP applied at ITESO or another Jesuit university will be accepted. The iBT computer version, which is international, will also be accepted.
*ITESO will not accept an TOEFL ITP result applied at another university.
Remember that if you take the TOEFL test and your result is 550 or higher, you will have already completed the institutional English requirement. However, if you are studying in a level at the time, you cannot unenroll said level. If you do not reach 550, but your result is between 460 and 549 points, you can be relocated to another level based on this result. If this is the case, and you are studying in a lower level than the newly indicated one at the time, you cannot unenroll. However, you may solicit your relocation in the following period.

Para poder graduarse y evitar bloqueos en sus estudios, todos los estudiantes de licenciatura deben cumplir con el Requisito Institucional de Inglés (RII), ya sea al completar todos los niveles del Programa Certificado de Inglés (PCI) o al entregar un certificado o examen estandarizado que demuestre un nivel de inglés B2. Por practicidad y seguridad para el estudiante, el Departamento de Lenguas recomienda tomar el examen TOEFL ITP (papel y lápiz) que se aplica en nuestro campus durante todo el año. Cualquier otra certificación internacional se paga y se aplica fuera del ITESO, por lo que es responsabilidad de cada estudiante asegurarse que el pago y la aplicación se lleven a cabo a través de páginas web legítimas y no apócrifas. El ITESO no tiene ningún control sobre las mismas. Por ejemplo, para presentar el examen TOEFL IBT (a computadora), la página oficial es https://www.ets.org/ Sin embargo, el dominio de esta página o de cualquier otra está sujeto a cambios.
El ITESO revisa la autenticidad de los documentos entregados. Si el certificado que un estudiante entregue no es auténtico o proviene de una página web apócrifa, el ITESO aplicará la normativa vigente, procediendo a la baja del ITESO del estudiante en el momento que se detecte el hecho.
