Sustainable Urban Mobility Program
The purpose of this program is to transform the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area into an inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable city, focusing on three key areas: urban mobility, access to housing, and public space design. It aims to guarantee safe, affordable, accessible, and sustainable mobility for all, prioritizing the needs of vulnerable groups such as children, people with disabilities, senior citizens, and women. It seeks to expand access to decent housing and basic services, protect and restore natural spaces on the city's outskirts and within the city itself, promote access to public spaces and green areas, combat air pollution and waste generation, and ultimately improve people's quality of life.
Progress
- Strengthening the influence of the Citizen Observatory for Mobility and Transportation of the State of Jalisco (OCMYTJAL), of which ITESO is an active member. As well as collaboration with citizen groups working on issues related to the right to a sustainable city.
- Production of academic inputs for influencing public policies on the right to a sustainable city.
- Work coordinated with the Mobility Program, the Mobility Seminar, Earth Week, the Actions for a Sustainable Campus project and the Sustainable Urban Mobility PAP.
