Guadalajara is the second-most important city in the country; a captivating metropolis, full of contrasts and traditions. A large part of the folklore for which Mexico is known around the world originated in this city and the state it belongs to: Jalisco.
Guadalajara is famous for its mariachis, monuments and art works. In the city, old traditional neighborhoods interact with the most cosmopolitan trends. Known as the "Pearl of the West", it is a safe and beautiful city; its inhabitants are warm and will make you feel at home.
ITESO is located within the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area, and the history of the university is intertwined with that of the city. Hundreds of teachers and graduates have contributed their knowledge to build present-day Guadalajara. Positioning the city in the global context through art, politics and social development has been and will continue to be one of the main objectives of our university community.
