Professor Velázquez has a Master's Degree in Global Marketing and a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, both from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente.
In the professional field he has worked for the Omnilife company as a business strategy manager, in the preparation of the image manual for retail points of sale, and in the implementation of the quality program at 179 points of sale in 18 countries. He was responsible for the national expansion, prospection, design, construction and/or remodeling of 52 points of sale in Mexico, and he designed the layout and logistical technological solutions for the food supplement manufacturing plant. At Decasa he was responsible for the layout design and the warehousing systems for the distribution center.
At ITESO he is a professor in the Department of Technological and Industrial Processes (DPTI). He coordinated the Master's Degree Program in Quality Management and worked on the restructuring of its academic program. He contributed to the setup of ITESO's Graduate Programs in Business, and coordinated DPTI's Professional Application Projects. He currently coordinates the Undergraduate Program in Industrial Engineering, and is in charge of the design and equipping of the program's lab.
