The Department of Habitat and Urban Development of ITESO, Jesuit University of Guadalajara, through its four postgraduate courses, in collaboration with the international university network Routes Towards Sustainability, invites:
5º INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF HABITAT AND SUSTAINABILITY:
Possible Futures Beyond 2030
The Congress will take place from April 9 to 11, 2025, at ITESO, Jesuit University of Guadalajara, and Casa ITESO Clavigero. In its fifth edition, this Congress has consolidated as an academic space that encourages analysis, reflection and exchange between the academic and professional fields through various activities such as keynote lectures, parallel sessions with research presentations or short dynamic presentations, discussion tables, workshops and other spaces that encourage direct dialogue between diverse actors.
The central theme, “Possible futures beyond 2030”, invites us to evaluate the results of global initiatives such as the Sustainable Development Goals, the New Urban Agenda and the Paris Agreement to propose plans, projects and initiatives with a critical and proactive vision and perspective towards the future, based on global achievements, local impacts, pending challenges and emerging agendas. This call for abstracts seeks the participation of researchers, students and professionals from various sectors and disciplines to explore and debate possible futures beyond the 2030 agendas. We aim to address topics such as urban resilience, sustainability, justice, adaptability, building efficiency, social innovation, and other issues related to developing prosperous habitats.
We invite abstracts for in-person presentations in two formats: traditional presentations (presentations of research advances or results) and short dynamic presentations (multimedia presentations or digital posters sessions from students in the first semesters of postgraduate studies and professionals). Entries can be in English or Spanish, although it must be considered there will be no simultaneous translation. Abstracts must have a maximum length of 300 words and align with one of the four congress themes presented below.

Relevant information
- This is an in-person Congress. Online participation is not considered.
- To appear in the final program and obtain proof of participation, at least one of the authors must pay the registration fee and attend the Congress.
- There will be two publications: a) All accepted abstracts will be published in the , and b) All participants with accepted abstracts can send the full article to be reviewed by peers in a double-blind format and, if selected, will be part of the academic publication.
- The traditional presentations by researchers or postgraduate students will be carried out in parallel sessions under the coordination of a moderator and time slot for questions and answers.
- Short dynamic presentations for postgraduate students and professionals will comprise 3-minute multimedia presentations or digital posters in spaces provided for networking and knowledge-exchange interactions in the Congress.
- All participants with a paper who send their article in full participate in the Routes towards Sustainability International University Network Award for “Research on Sustainability” in collaboration with ITESO.
